Muriel’s Blog

Muriel Boyd About Muriel:

Hi friends! I’m a Kansas City girl who did the typical Kansas City things.  After many jobs, I took a leap of
faith and landed in South Asia- quite a jump!  I love people,  learning about different cultures and travel-
so I’m in the right place.  What a blessing to do what God has planned specifically for me from the beginning
of time- WOW!  Every day is a new adventure and each day, I can see how God is growing me and conforming me
to the image of His Son, Jesus Christ.  Thanks for coming along with me!

Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are varieties of ministries, and the same Lord. There are varieties of effects, but the same God who works all things in all persons. But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.
1 Corinthians 12:4-7 NASB

Muriel’s Blog

In 2006, I watched the sunrise over Asia for the first time. That day I began a new adventure that changed my life. It’s been an amazing journey of learning and growth. Eating new foods, seeing places I’d only read about and hearing sounds that are now familiar friends. It has been a time of building relationships – relationships with those I work with, with people from diverse backgrounds and a closer relationship with God. I’ve had the privilege of learning His vision for Asia and seeing how God is moving to grow His Kingdom.

For the past five years, I’ve had as assortment of duties from orientation of new team members, hosting guests and short term teams to administration and finance.
I’m now working to build a Womens Bible Study Network. We not only want to give the Bible but want the Scriptures used, understood and lived out.

I’m also involved in Vision Building: building and fostering networks and partnerships that include national and international churches, church leaders and other mission activists who recognize the importance of Scripture Use as a foundation for missions.

Mission outreach is most effective when God’s people are united by the Holy Spirit, work together and build on the gifts and skills we each have been given. Our team does just that. For all the language communities to experience the Kingdom of God and live transformed lives, those committed to this transformation through the Scripture need to work in partnership. One of my colleagues said my position was “T”- as in fits me to a T. I love meeting people, talking, networking and making friends.

I’m from Kansas City, Missouri and a member of Paseo Baptist Church along with my parents and two sisters. My daughter lives in Portland, Oregon. I look forward to getting to know you and would love to hear how God is working in your life. I pray that He will continue to give you the strength and courage to walk the path He has before you.

PARTNERING TOGETHER

While in South Asia my main role is as a Scripture Use Specialist. I am responsible for implementing a strategy for the development of vision, capacity and resources, especially in the area of Bible study and particularly for women.

Every Wycliffe missionary, whether serving overseas or in the US on home assignment, is dependent on the Lord’s provision through His people each month. Ministry partners donate gifts to Wycliffe Bible Translators, expressing their interest and preference in a particular individual ministry or project.  I invite you to consider becoming a partner with me in reaching people in South Asia with God’s Word.  If you are not already involved through prayer, encouragement and/or financial support, I would like to offer you the opportunity to be a part of this ministry if God leads you.

I greatly appreciate your consideration of prayer and financial partnership with me. If you would like to give to Wycliffe for my ministry, you can give online or by mail.
