The mission statement of the Evangelism Ministry Team (EMT) is:
Loving and respecting people, voicing the message of Christ, and seeking to connect them with God.
Vision: Through prayer and outreach into the community our strategy is to equip individuals to share their faith verbally. By also living out the gospel message and impacting the individual and family, the individual in return impacts the community, the Church (community) impacts the city, and the city impacts the world for Christ.
Our strategy:
Part One – The Individual and Family: We strive to see generation to generation and ethnicity to ethnicity represented in the body of Christ by teaching individuals to share their faith and to live a life that is good and pleasing to God. We also want to encourage believers to bring guests so that they may hear the word of God for themselves.
Part Two – The Community: We strive to reach the community from the inside out. We intentionally engage the people of our community as we are led by God with evangelistic events that are geared toward winning them to Christ.
- Through media and various outlets.
- Mobilizing door to door visits and street evangelism allows us to meet people where they are and present them the Gospel.
- Providing food, clothes, and other basic needs.
- Visiting the sick, shut-in, and those in confinement, in accordance with Matthew 25.
Part Three – The City: We strive to impact the city, part by part, one individual at a time from the inside out collectively building on the belief that people must be born again. As people are born into God’s kingdom individuals are impacted by the power of God. Individuals impact communities and communities impact the city. Our belief is that the same resurrection power that resurrected the Lord Jesus Christ is available to us today, and that Kansas City will be a city set on a hill (Matthew 5:14).
